Quetzalcoatl
Si le das un pez a un hombre le quitas el hambre un dia, si le enseñas a pescar sustentablemente, se la quitas para siempre...
(If you give a man a fish, you take away his hunger one day... if you teach him to fish sustainably, you take away his hunger forever...)
Our Programs
The Center for Rural Development Quetzalcoatl has been promoting the consolidation of human skills in the rural society, This provides the acquisition of useful learning with use value, in which the skills developed are immediately put to use in daily chores. This we believe is a fundamental corner stone for sustainable development.

We work with two different modalities
One for the directed to the beneficiaries of our programs, and another addressed to the general public, institutions or organizations interested in courses or workshops.

Program: Implementation of micro enterprises
Objective:
In order for every family to have the opportunity to participate in an activity for alternative income other than farming. We considered is essential to provide participants not only with support for improving their housing, their production systems and their skills, but also the means to engage in micro enterprises thus avoiding possible migration. A strategy use by many of this families in order to complement their income.

Improving the production unit
If you work the land for food is a very hard task. To do it in extreme poverty is even more. Thousands of families perform this task daily in the worst conditions imaginable. Their animals do not have fences, sleep outdoors tied to a bush and have parasites. This results in larger losses of food, and work time, because they are unprofitable and most of the time, barely recover the investment. Ver más
